Pasteur Network for World Health Day 2026: Together for Health

Published on April 7, 2026

A Pasteur Network communication marking World Health Day 2026 and highlighting key global health initiatives driven by science, collaboration, and international solidarity.

Description

Pasteur Network marks World Health Day 2026 under the theme “Together for Health. Stand with Science.” In line with the World Health Organization’s call to choose evidence over misinformation and collaboration over isolation, this communication highlights the Network’s commitment to science-based and collaborative responses to increasingly complex health challenges affecting people, animals, and the planet.

Pasteur Network brings together more than 30 institutes across 25 countries, many of them based in the Global South, and supports research and public health action where health threats are most acute. The objective of this communication is to reaffirm the importance of international scientific cooperation and to showcase concrete initiatives that strengthen health systems, preparedness, and equitable access to innovation.

The communication presents several flagship initiatives:

  • Climate Health Observatory, funded by The Rockefeller Foundation and the Institute of Philanthropy, which strengthens evidence on how climate change reshapes disease risks through fellows, exemplar sites, and regional partners.
  • Vaccine Manufacturing Initiative (VMI), funded by Wellcome Trust, supporting vaccine production capacity across 9 countries, with more than 2,600 staff and 525 million doses produced annually.
  • Collective Action on Dengue (CAD), which connects scientists, policymakers, and practitioners to support coordinated One Health responses.
  • DURABLE, funded by the European Commission, which helps the scientific community prepare for future outbreaks through training, shared protocols, and institutional collaboration.

This content is relevant for scientists, policymakers, public health practitioners, partners, and citizens interested in global health, climate and health, vaccine access, dengue response, and outbreak preparedness.

The format is an online communication / awareness post. No registration, application process, venue details, or eligibility conditions are specified in the source.
